Quick Bite: Good Service, Wonderful food with good portions.

Service:

 Good! Our whole party wasn’t present yet but our waiter was attentive and patient with us while we waited.

Ambiance: 

The restaurant is right on Willy Street which can sometimes lead to some tricky parking. Luckily, we didn’t run into that issue on this visit. The restaurant is also a little but loud, which can make it hard to converse, but in our case helped mute the loud and mischievous shrieks and giggles. 

Large Groups: 

This is tricky. While I think the space can accommodate groups well, the real issue is the lack of reservation system. We weren’t even sure about stopping in for dinner because of the potential for a long wait with a toddler. Even after dinner, there were at least 4 parties waiting for table  on a Sunday evening. 

Taste: 

Chicken Sandwich - A rotating special featuring signature lemongrass fried chicken. This one had elote, and I think I liked it more than the standard sandwich I’ve had in the past. 

Sai Oua Fried Rice- Ade like this one! He and my dad were very happy about the portions. There was a different rice he wanted that was on the lunch menu, but he said this was a good stand in. 

Lao Egg Roll - Wonderful, flavorful and nice and crispy. 

Pork Dumplings- I loved the strong umami flavor of these, I think I could actually have just an order of those with a side salad and be very happy 

Chicken Satay - Simo tore these up!! The chicken was perfectly tender but it wasn’t too sticky! The pieces of chicken were large too, so it didn’t feel like a skimpy appetizer at all.

We will back! Ahan has been consistently delicious and always something I look forward to eating. We hope to try their newer restaurant Ba Lao, too!
