Cooking the Books: Cooking the Borderlands by Claudette Zepeda
This was a refreshing and flavorful cookbook! The directions were easy to follow and recipes felt accessible and complete even if you weren't making things completely from scratch. When you did have to make recipe within a recipe, it wasn't fussy or took too much time away. Ingredients were relatively easy to source as well, and I feel more confident in working them into my regular spontaneous cooking. I also like how the book is organized regionally, it provided some cultural education about different types of dishes and their connections to Zepeda.
