We Have Food at Home: June Week 4
Another week, another round of good eating at Restaurant Adedoyin. This week we were heavily in our What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking era — Here's the full breakdown.
Monday — Marinated Skirt Steak with Peppers
We started strong with the Marinated Skirt Steak with Peppers from What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking. Weeknight steak that actually comes together? Yes please. The beauty of working less in the summer (school counselor) is that sometime I can get dinner started a little earlier. I started marinating this steak around 10:30am and that definitely contributed to the flavor.
Tuesday — Cacio e Pepe Cabbage + Chicken Piccata
Tuesday was doing the most — in the best way. We made the Cabbage Cacio e Pepe from What to Cook When You Don't Feel Like Cooking alongside Chicken Piccata from Food & Wine. I was looking for something lighter to pair with chicken, and Ade remembered our goal to eat more veggies in more interesting ways, so the pairing was perfect. Two dishes, one very good dinner. Also, I scored pre shredded green cabbage at Trader Joe’s which made things so much faster.
Wednesday — Leftovers
Wednesday belonged to the leftovers and we have zero notes.
Thursday — Night Market at The Rusty Bee
We took the night off from cooking and headed to the Night Market at The Rusty Bee. A little outing, a little fun — highly recommend checking out local events like this when they pop up in your area.
Friday — Cauliflower Shawarma Bowls
Back in the kitchen with another rising favorite Craveable by Seema Pankhania. This one surprised us in the best way, and was one of those late night meals we wanted to keep stuffing our face full of. We even got inspiration from one her lamb recipes and added some as extra protein.
Weekend — Classic Apple Crisp
We closed out the week on a sweet note with the Classic Apple Crisp from King Arthur Baking Company. The perfect Father’s Day Treat, and I didn’t cry while making it! Although I did forget the seasonings….
